FAQ's Answers to all your questions

WHY A CAT SITTER?

  • A lot of cats can get very agitated and anxious when they stay in a cattery or pet hotel

  • Your cat can continue to follow its daily routine without any disruption

  • It can be difficult to rely on neighbours and friends to help out in case they forget or aren’t always available

  • I will never forget about looking after your cats

  • You don’t have the hassle of dropping off and picking up your cats from the cattery/pet hotel

  • I have experience in animal first aid

  • You will receive regular updates on your cat so will always know how they are getting on.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE INTRODUCTORY VISIT?

This is an opportunity for me to meet both cat and cat owner prior to the home visits.  It will allow me to familiarise myself with the home and your cat and allow you to take me through your cat's routines.

I will also complete a pet questionnaire with you to ensure that I have everything I need to look after your cat to the highest standard.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE VISIT?

  • Clean feeding areas and bowls

  • Clean litter trays, change litter and pick out waste as directed

  • Keeping indoor animals inside

  • Fuss and play throughout the whole visit

  • Clean up any mess made by animals throughout the visit

  • Text, picture or video updates for each visit if requested

  • Put out bins, water plants, pick up post etc, if requested

DO YOU ONLY LOOK AFTER CATS?

No, I will also look after other small animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, mice, fish etc.  Please contact me to discuss further.

MY CAT NEEDS TO GO TO THE VET, CAN YOU TAKE HIM/HER?

Prior to the booking, I will send you my client information form which is used to obtain all the necessary information regarding your cat.  This also includes a 'Veterinary Release form', which provides guidelines on what I will do in an emergency, including taking the cat to a vet.  This needs to be signed before the first visit.  Please note additional charges will apply should a vet visit be required.

If your cat is looking off colour and I think they might need veterinary attention then before making any decisions I will attempt to contact you to discuss the issue.

With your consent, I will transport your pet to the vets and bring them back home again when they have been assessed, and give any aftercare advised by the vet while you're still away. If I can't contact you or your emergency contact, I'll use my own judgement before making a decision to take your pet to the vets. Before going away, please check with your vet their procedure for cat sitters in case the need arises.
